Addus Homecare is seeking a Full Time Operational Accountant II, a hybrid role out of our Corporate office in Frisco TX.
Position SummaryOperational Accountant II is responsible for maintaining the general ledger, reconciling general ledger accounts, preparing journal entries, analyzing financial statements, and supporting the Operational Accounting management team. The role requires proven knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, a strong work ethic, and attention to detail.
Location:
Hybrid – Addus Home Care 6303 Cowboys Way Suite 600, Frisco, TX 75034 (1 day in office)
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8am to 5pm / 40 hours per week

- Assists with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements.
- Prepares month end close journal entries.
- Analyzes account balances and determines appropriate accruals monthly.
- Records month end AR system activity to general ledger.
- Reviews and analyzes revenue transactions.
- Reviews and analyzes expense accounts to ensure proper coding and make corrections as needed.
- Performs monthly income statement variance analyses.
- Performs monthly bank reconciliations.
- Performs additional accounting duties and ad hoc reporting as required.
- Reconciles and researches balance sheet variances.
- Assists with quarterly and year-end audit requests.
- Always maintains a high degree of confidentiality due to access to sensitive information.
- Maintains regular, predictable, consistent attendance and is flexible to meet the needs of the department.
- Follows all Medicare, Medicaid, and HIPAA regulations and requirements.
- Abides by all regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Maintains positive internal and external customer service relationships.
- Maintains open lines of communication.
- Plans and organizes work effectively and ensures its completion.
- Meets all productivity requirements.
- Demonstrates team behavior and promotes a team-oriented environment.
- Always represents the organization professionally.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 2-5 years related experience.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills.
