Job Overview
One of Vaco's publicly-traded clients in the far North Dallas area is looking to hire an Accountant II due to an internal promotion. The role will manage accounting for 20-25 entities, with a heavy emphasis on variance analysis and serving as a liaison between business segments. Solid communication skills are required.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations and research/resolution of variances.
- Analyze revenue recognition, expense activity, and operational transactions to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare monthly income statement flux analyses and provide commentary to management.
- Record and reconcile accounts receivable and other subledger activity to the general ledger.
- Assist with preparation of SEC reporting support schedules, audit requests, and compliance documentation.
- Support internal and external audit processes, including SOX compliance and internal controls testing.
- Monitor accounting processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, billing, revenue cycle, and finance teams.
- Assist with ad hoc reporting, special projects, and implementation of new accounting standards as needed.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive financial, operational, and patient-related information.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- CPA or CPA-track strongly preferred.
- 3‑6+ years of progressive accounting experience required.
- Public accounting experience and/or publicly traded company experience preferred.
- Healthcare or home healthcare industry experience highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, month‑end close, and financial reporting processes.
Base salary range is provided as required by local law. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, and participation in the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
