Lube Technician

The Lube Technician is responsible for performing express lube duties on vehicles.

• Adhere to express lube guidelines.
• Perform lube, oil and filter changes by draining and replacing oil, filter, and lubricating all joints, including idler arm steering knuckles, tie rod ends, and ball joints.
• Report necessary repairs to service advisor.
• Install completed LOF reminder sticker in vehicle.
• Check battery, tire air pressure, windshield fluid, transmission fluid and power steering fluid levels and refill as needed.
• Check coolant level and refill as necessary.
• Ensure vehicle is clean and free of fluid residue or fingerprints.
• Check fluid levels prior to release of vehicle to ensure proper levels.
• Maintain CSI at or above company standards.
• Maintain an organized, clean and safe work area.
• Participate in required training.
• Record all hours worked accurately in company timekeeping system.
• Follow safeguards rules and regulations.
• Demonstrate the company’s core values.
• Comply with company policies and procedures.
• Observe all federal, state, local and company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties.

• Basic knowledge of automotive parts and systems.
• Demonstrable mechanical skills and knowledge.
• Technical training or commensurate technical experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Basic computer skills to utilize timekeeping system.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel.
• Attendance expectations:
  Regular and predictable attendance; shifts may include evenings, weekends and holidays.

• Education:
  
  GED or High School Diploma required;
  Associate Degree, Bachelor Degree, or higher preferred.
• Experience:
  
  Up to 3 years in automotive or related work; 3-5 years or 5+ years preferred.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Work requires talking, hearing, standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Work environment includes loud noise, vibration, exhaust fumes; safe operation of power tools and test equipment.
