SummaryThe Lube Technician is responsible for performing express lube duties on vehicles.
Responsibilities- Adhere to express lube guidelines.
- Perform lube, oil and filter changes by draining and replacing oil, filter, and lubricating all joints, including idler arm steering knuckles, tie rod ends, and ball joints.
- Report necessary repairs to service advisor.
- Install completed LOF reminder sticker in vehicle.
- Check battery, tire air pressure, windshield fluid, transmission fluid and power steering fluid levels and refill as needed.
- Check coolant level and refill as necessary.
- Ensure vehicle is clean and free of fluid residue or fingerprints.
- Check fluid levels prior to release of vehicle to ensure proper levels.
- Maintain CSI at or above company standards.
- Maintain an organized, clean and safe work area.
- Participate in required training.
- Record all hours worked accurately in company timekeeping system.
- Follow safeguards rules and regulations.
- Demonstrate the company’s core values.
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
- Observe all federal, state, local and company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties.
- Basic knowledge of automotive parts and systems.
- Demonstrable mechanical skills and knowledge.
- Technical training or commensurate technical experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Basic computer skills to utilize timekeeping system.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel.
- Attendance expectations:
Regular and predictable attendance; shifts may include evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Education:
GED or High School Diploma required;
Associate Degree, Bachelor Degree, or higher preferred. - Experience:
Up to 3 years in automotive or related work; 3-5 years or 5+ years preferred.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Work requires talking, hearing, standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Work environment includes loud noise, vibration, exhaust fumes; safe operation of power tools and test equipment.
