SummaryResponsible for identifying necessary vehicle service and performing the repair, service, and maintenance work. No direct supervisory responsibilities.
Responsibilities- Examine customer vehicles.
- Identify necessary vehicle repairs and maintenance.
- Estimate cost of repairs.
- Perform vehicle repairs and maintenance.
- Document services performed.
- Perform services efficiently and in accordance with dealership and manufacturer guidelines.
- Request necessary parts.
- Maintain CSI at or above company standards.
- Maintain an organized, clean and safe work area.
- Participate in required training.
- Record all hours worked accurately in company timekeeping system.
- Follow Safeguards rules and regulations.
- Demonstrate the company’s core values.
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
- Observe all federal, state, local and company safety rules and regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent; GED accepted.
- Associate degree or higher preferred.
- 3–5 years of automotive service experience (5+ years preferred).
- Thorough knowledge of automotive parts and systems.
- Demonstrable mechanical skills and knowledge.
- Technical training or commensurate technical experience required.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Basic computer skills for timekeeping and parts/inventory system.
- Strong communication skills: ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
- Attendance reliability and ability to work evening hours, weekends and holidays.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Requires ability to talk, hear, stand, walk, use hands, reach, and perform tasks in various physical positions. Able to use power tools and test equipment safely.
Physical DemandsRegularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, use hands, reach with arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
Environment DemandsWork primarily in the service area. Exposure to loud noise, vibration, exhaust fumes, and other service and repair conditions may occur. Frequently interacts with customers, service advisors and service managers.
