The Director of Food & Dollar Channel is responsible for driving profitable growth, retailer strategy, and internal P&L performance across food and dollar retailers. This role leads a team of National Account Managers and category partners, ensuring retailer-specific strategies, price-pack architecture, and execution discipline are aligned to retailer economics and internal financial objectives.
This role operates at both a strategic and executional level, translating enterprise priorities into customer-specific strategies while serving as a key voice in broader commercial planning. The Director partners closely with Marketing, RGM/Pricing, Supply Chain, and Sales Operations to deliver results across volume, revenue, and share.
Key Responsibilities Retail Strategy & Customer Leadership- Develop and execute customer-specific retail strategies aligned to enterprise growth priorities
- Lead annual joint business planning (JBP) and long-range customer planning
- Ensure strategies are grounded in shopper behavior, store format realities, and retailer margin economics
- Strengthen strategic partnerships with retail customers through data-driven insights and proactive collaboration that drive category and trip growth
- Represent the customer voice in internal planning and innovation discussions
- Own sales, margin, and net contribution performance for the Food & Dollar channel
- Deliver volume, revenue, profit, and share targets across assigned retail accounts
- Make disciplined trade-offs across price, pack, promotion, and media investments
- Monitor performance metrics and adjust plans to drive account growth and profitability
- Guide price-pack architecture by store format or region
- Ensure clear good / better / best logic across food and dollar retailers
- Balance value accessibility with margin protection
- Prevent assortment creep and unproductive SKU proliferation
- Partner with Finance, RGM, and Analytics to evaluate promotion ROI, optimize mix, and increase profitable volume
- Partner with Product and Innovation on product launches and assortment changes
- Serve as the primary Food & Dollar account voice for marketing and media planning
- Collaborate with Demand Planning and Supply Chain to align forecasts, inventory, and service levels
- Lead, coach, and develop high-performing retail sales leaders and account teams
- Set clear expectations, priorities, and performance standards
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Build strong internal partnerships grounded in trust and shared ownership of results

Position Requirements- 10+ years of progressive experience owning assortment, pricing, and financial decisions within retail, marketplace, or CPG environments
- Demonstrated ability to manage profit and growth trade-offs across pricing, cost, margin, and customer programs
- Strong fluency using data and commercial systems to drive real-time decisions and anticipate risk
- Proven success leading, coaching, and developing cross-functional and/or account teams, including setting clear direction, accountability, and performance expectations
