Manage the campus Section 504 program and oversee provision of needed services. Oversee compliance with all state, federal, and local Section 504 requirements. Manage all District and state assessments for the assigned campus(s).
Education/Certification- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas teacher certification
- Highly organized, flexible self-starter who independently completes tasks accurately and on time
- Ability to quickly learn and apply new systems, procedures, and expectations
- Effectively facilitates meetings
- Knowledge of current laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines related to disability discrimination in public schools, including Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Texas Education Agency, and the U.S. Department of Education Office for Civil Rights (OCR)
- Knowledge of the relationship and differences between Section 504 and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
- Knowledge of accommodations for students with impairments
- Knowledge of District, state, and federal testing procedures and timelines
- Strong knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and assessment
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Student focused and ability to work effectively with peers and stakeholders to support student success
- Minimum Three Years Of Teaching Experience
- Grade K-5 teaching experience preferred
- Effectively facilitates meetings and collaborative discussions with multiple stakeholders.
- Maintain working knowledge of applicable laws, regulation, policies, and guidance related to disability discrimination in public schools.
- Identify and support the implementation of appropriate accommodations for students with disabilities.
- Attend all District trainings regarding state and local testing.
- Coordinate and deliver campus trainings for state assessments and other campus designated tests.
- Coordinate and monitor proper testing protocols for all student assessments and provide logistical guidance in all areas of testing.
- Maintain proper documentation for all components of testing and ensure the security and confidentiality of all testing materials and student information.
- Coordinate all District and state assessment and follow-up processes for the assigned campus.
- Evaluate individual student data.
- Train proctors on campus.
- Prepare rosters for eligible students for testing.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure documented accommodations are accurate for each student.
- Manage inventories on all testing materials before, during, and after testing.
- Attend all District trainings regarding Section 504.
- Monitor campus Section 504 procedures.
- Oversee school personnel access to, and verification of, a student’s Section 504 plan for compliance.
- Maintain proper Section 504 documentation and oversee the security and confidentiality of all student information.
- Coordinate, plan, and facilitate Section 504 meetings to comply with federal regulations.
- Assist with scheduling, coordinating, monitoring, and facilitating campus SST/MTSS meetings.
- Assist with campus processes, timelines, and documentation.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure proper referral procedures.
- Oversee the security and confidentiality of student information.
