Akiba Yavneh Academy, a leading Modern Orthodox Jewish Day School, is seeking a passionate and dedicated High School AP Math and Algebra Teacher to join our dynamic lower school team. What You'll Do
  • Teach introductory and upper‑level courses in Algebra, Geometry
    , and AP Math Courses
    , as well as advanced topics from your area of expertise.
  • Create a warm, inclusive, and respectful classroom culture that reflects AYA’s commitment to academic excellence and character development.
  • Design engaging lessons that integrate technology
    , executive functioning
    , and social‑emotional learning (SEL) practices.
  • Monitor and assess student growth through formative and summative assessments, providing timely and individualized feedback.
  • Collaborate closely with fellow educators, learning specialists, and school leadership to support each student’s success.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with parents and guardians.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to the life of the school community.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or related field (
    Master’s preferred
    ).
  • Valid teaching certification or equivalent experience in High School or College‑level math
    .
  • Five or more years of experience in teaching upper school math.
  • Familiarity with best practices in literacy instruction, inquiry‑based learning, and differentiated teaching strategies.
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Passion for fostering a love of learning
    , building relationships with students, and meeting diverse learning needs.
  • Understanding of Jewish values and traditions is a plus
    , but not required.
