Teacher – Middle School, Texas History

• Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in Texas History to support intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth
• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with the district curriculum
• Prepare lessons accommodating differences in student learning styles
• Present subject matter according to Texas Education Agency guidelines, board policies, and administrative regulations
• Plan and use instructional strategies, activities, materials, and equipment suited to students' learning styles and needs
• Assess student learning styles and use results to plan instruction
• Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula according to IEP guidelines
• Work with staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods
• Plan and supervise teacher aides and volunteers
• Use technology to strengthen teaching and learning
• Help students improve study methods and habits
• Assess student achievement through formal and informal testing
• Participate in assigned extracurricular activities and sponsor approved outside activities
• Create and manage a classroom environment conducive to learning
• Manage student behavior according to the Student Code of Conduct and student handbook
• Protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
• Communicate with parents, students, principals, and teachers through conferences
• Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, students, parents, and community members
• Participate in staff development activities
• Comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies
• Maintain required physical and computerized reports, records, and documents
• Attend faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required

• Bachelor's degree from accredited university
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned
• Demonstrated competency in the academic subject area assigned
• Knowledge of academic subject assigned
• General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
• Ability to perform frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing
• Ability to move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment

Demonstrates expertise in Texas History education, lesson planning, and instructional strategies tailored to diverse learning styles. Proficient in managing classroom environments and fostering effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
