Position Title: College Intern

Department: Student Ministry

Supervisor: Director of College & Career

Position Summary: The College Intern is a paid member of the student ministry staff of Frisco First serving the college ministry. This is a part-time position of approximately 15 hours.

Skills/

Experience:

Current college student or recent college graduate preferred. Demonstrated commitment to Jesus Christ and involvement in a local church. Passion for evangelism, discipleship, and ministry to college students. Strong interpersonal and relational skills. Ability to initiate conversations and build relationships with new people. Self-motivated and able to work independently. Experience leading Bible studies, small groups, or ministry teams is preferred.

Social media and graphic design skills are a plus.

Requirements: Must be a devoted follower of Jesus Christ with a heart for reaching and discipling college students. Must demonstrate spiritual maturity, integrity, teachability, and a commitment to the mission and values of Frisco First Baptist Church. Must possess a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to serve wherever needed. Must maintain a lifestyle consistent with biblical standards and the expectations of Frisco First Baptist Church.

General Responsibilities of the College Intern:

  • Make 10 new college student contacts per week
  • Lead a weekly on campus Bible study for the duration of the fall and spring semester
  • Personally meet with a minimum of 1 college student a week for ongoing discipleship and mentorship
  • Lead weekly on campus tabling outreach
  • Build relationships with college students through personal follow-up after each students first time visit to church
  • Represent the college ministry by attending every on-campus student org event
  • Meet once per week for leadership development meetings
  • Maintain regular communication with college students through text messages, social media, email, and personal contact.
  • Help organize special events, retreats, mission trips, service projects, and fellowship opportunities for college students.
  • Attend worship services, ministry events, and staff meetings as directed by the Director of College & Career
  • Assist in recruiting and developing student volunteer leaders who will invest in college students.
  • Support the overall mission of the Student Ministry and assist with other ministry responsibilities as assigned.
