EXPERIENCE + KNOWLEDGE SKILLs ABILITY (KSA)
Emerging Basic understanding and minimal practical experience; requires guidance and supervision. No experience is required, internship experience and EIT preferred.
- Knowledge of standard engineering and scientific techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out tasks.
- Skills including use of industry-standard computer software for the position (i.e., software such as CAD, HCS, AutoCAD, Micro Station, GIS, and Hydrologic/Hydraulic models).
- Ability to use spreadsheets, word processing, and standard office software.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete simple application of design and analysis using determined software and criteria, under the direction of a Professional Engineer.
- Exercise limited judgment on details of work including preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
- Utilize Company resources to begin understanding QA/QC processes and procedures.
- Work with supervisor, project manager, mentors, and various internal personnel to complete assignments within discipline.
- Utilize formal education including fundamentals of engineering and apply it in assignments.
- Work with internal clients daily and escalate concerns when needed.
- Identify existing utilities in a project area, research the contacts for those utilities, and establish contact with the utility companies.
- Prepare Utility Agreement Assembly packages, including reviewing plans and estimates to evaluate compliance with guidelines, rules, and regulations, determining eligibility and betterment ratios, and preparing documents required by 23 CFR Section 645.
- Attend meetings with individual utility companies and on-site field visits.
- Work with utility companies, including communication/broadband utility owners, water and wastewater utilities, electric utilities, oil, and gas pipeline companies, etc., and state agencies and municipalities.
- Support Cobb Fendley Project Managers and Engineers with engineering design or coordination tasks for various projects.
- Apply technical expertise and be able to work with a project team on conventional and unconventional projects.
- Perform independent research and adapt to changing priorities.

Most work is performed in a professional office environment. Some trips to client offices and outdoor environments for observations will be required.

- Mobility. Movement within the office and job sites, including navigating between floors, workstations, and outdoor environments with potential for uneven surfaces.
