In this role, you will support corporate Quality efforts and serve as a Quality resource to delivery groups in the area of subject matter expertise. You will review and report on all Quality activities for project design and construction on a periodic basis in the area of subject matter expertise. You will need to understand design documents and performs precon (preparatory) meetings, first work in place (initial) observations, and periodic (follow‑up) observations to ensure compliance with the design documents, submittals, manufacturer's requirements, and best practices.

You will promote the use of materials, finishes, and details with excellent long‑term Quality performances. You will also work closely with the discipline Quality Improvements Committees to develop and maintain best practices, create standard procedures and enhance construction documents.

Job Responsibilities
  • Project Quality Planning
    • Mentors and directs Quality Coordinators and Quality SME's in the area of SME
    • Attends periodic QIP meetings when requested
    • Provides technical review during both design and construction on all projects in the area of SME
  • Design Phase
    • Assist design staff in the development of design details and selection of material in the area of SME
    • Perform reviews of the design documents at approximately 30% and 100% to ensure that they conform to Lesson Learned, best practices, industry standards, and Haskell standards in the area of SME
    • Review project submittals in the area of SME expertise
  • Project Quality Assurance
    • Assists, as requested, with the selection and administration of subcontracts for independent project Quality consultants in their area of expertise (i.e. geotechnical, testing laboratories, threshold structural inspection, window wall, roofing system, facade system, etc.)
    • Conducts periodic project reviews/observations of design, and construction Quality processes at key points to assure that plans are being followed and that anticipated Quality outcomes are being achieved in the area of SME
    • Reports Quality deficiencies in the area of SME and recommends corrective action to Project Superintendent, Construction Project Manager, Design Project Manager, and Quality Coordinator. Follows up on corrective action
    • Assists in project Quality related problem‑solving and corrective actions in the area of SME
  • Quality Metrics and Continuous Improvement
    • Participates in Lessons Learned Conferences as requested. Works with CEC, Delivery Group DOC's, AE Group Leadership, and discipline Quality Improvement Committees in the area of SME to create and implement actions to improve results
    • Actively engages in the development and creation of Qualigrams and Best Practices
    • Actively participates in the technical development of the Quality Coordinators
    • Performs a minimum of 4 seminars each year to a large audience to improve the quality and technical knowledge of staff
    • Attends a minimum of 32 hours of professional development (in or out of house) to improve your knowledge base
    • Creates and implements, with supervisor input, a development plan to become recognized as an SME (Subject Matter Expert) in additional areas within the company in a specific area of interest related to the quality of work
Education / Experience
