The Sr Data Engineer designs and develops data architectures in on-premise, cloud and hybrid platforms. The Sr Data Engineer collaborates with Data Engineers on analysis, architecture, design, and development of data warehouse and business analytics solutions. This role mentors other team members in their efforts to build data engineering skillsets.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop data engineering solutions, including data pipelines, visualization and analytical tools
  • Design and develop data architectures in on-premise, cloud and hybrid platforms
  • Data wrangling of heterogeneous data, exploration and discovery in pursuit of new business insights
  • Actively contribute to the team’s knowledge and drive new capabilities forward
  • Mentor other team members in their efforts to build data engineering skillsets
  • Assist team management in defining projects, including helping estimate, plan and scope work
  • Prepare and contribute to presentations required by management
  • Also responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management as needed.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree:
    Computer Engineering, Computer Science, A Related Subject Area Or Equivalent Experience (Required)

Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

  • Analytical Approach To Problem-Solving;
    Ability To Use Technology To Tackle Business Problems (Preferred)
  • Working Knowledge Of Message Queuing, Stream Processing, And Highly Scalable ‘Big Data’ Data Stores (Preferred)
  • Ability To Manage Work Across Multiple Projects, Good Organizational Skills (Preferred)
  • Passionate About Learning New Technologies (Preferred)
  • 5 Years Developing Cloud Solutions Using Data Series;
    Experience With Cloud Platforms (Amazon Web Services, Azure, Or Google Cloud) (Required)
  • Hands-On Development Using And Migrating Data To Cloud Platforms (Required)
  • Experience In SQL, Nosql, And/Or Relational Database Design And Development (Required)
  • Advanced Knowledge And Experience In Building Complex Data Pipelines With Python, Experience In Languages Such As SQL, DAX Python, Java, Scala, And/Or Go (Required)
  • Cloud platform certification(s) i.e. AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) (Preferred)

  • Expertise with writing complex SQL in various cloud platforms like AWS, Azure and Google Big Query.
  • Experience on collaborating and designing cloud architecture and performing intricate data analysis
  • Proficient in Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse Analytics, Apache Spark Clusters, HD insights clusters, Azure Data Lake Analytics(U-Sql), Azure SQL Database, and Azure Cosmos DB.
  • Proficient in building streaming applications to process real-time data from Kafka/eventhub using Spark Streaming/Nifi/pyspark and to load into various data warehouses like OHL, Teradata, and AWS/Microsoft cloud Databases
  • Experience with Azure Dev Ops for CI/CD pipelines.
  • Expertise in Databricks platform, including Databricks SQL and proficiency in managing Databricks clusters and optimizing performance.
  • In-depth knowledge of Delta Lake architecture and functionalities.
  • Hands on experience with working on any customer data platform or similar data foundations.
  • At least 18 years of age
