Farnsworth Group is seeking a Sr.
Environmental Scientist to work in diverse team environments across Lisle, IL, Dallas, TX, and Charlotte, NC. The role involves project management, employee development, client engagement, and occasional travel.

- Providing leadership to support environmental compliance services on various energy and utilities projects, including telecom, renewable, and oil & gas projects.
- Managing projects, tasks, and staff to support environmental compliance needs of clients and engineering project managers.
- Supervising, training, and mentoring less experienced team members.
- Prioritizing and delegating project responsibilities while fostering the development of junior staff.
- Completing proposals and estimating project budgets.
- Supporting field investigations to delineate and map wetlands, perform environmental compliance inspections, describe habitat, and report environmental conditions to design engineers.
- Researching and completing environmental permitting at the federal, state, and local levels.
- Composing, reviewing, and submitting a variety of regulatory documents including SPCC Plans, SWPPP, and BMP Plans.
- Cultivating strong client relationships.
- Working with project teams, technical staff, and subcontractors.
- BS (MS preferred) in Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, Natural Resources, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of related environmental project management experience.
- Experience collecting GPS data and creating maps in ArcGIS Pro.
- Familiarity with federal and state environmental regulations (Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, National Historic Preservation Act, etc.).
- Strong team‑player skills in a multi‑disciplinary environment with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including facilitation and presentation capabilities.
- Computer proficiency with MS Office – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to travel on short notice.
- Valid driver’s license.
