Trust Tax Analyst role partners with internal wealth management business partners and external vendor partners to facilitate the implementation, administration, and processing of various IRS and state agency fiduciary tax forms and filings. The role builds strong relationships with internal partners, external vendor partners, and various taxing agencies to provide accurate and timely processing of tax forms and filings. It identifies and communicates operational strategies and efficiency opportunities to senior leadership, impacting business results, and provides superior customer service and specialized subject matter expertise to tax clients.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver superior customer service and specialize subject matter expertise to tax clients.
- Serve as a subject matter expert to the wealth management business in the areas of income, estate, gift, and fiduciary tax.
- Communicate with senior leadership team to provide operational strategies and efficiency opportunities.
- Represent the business to various taxing agencies, including federal, state, and local.
- Serve as liaison between outside tax preparation vendor and TIAA by sharing information, collaborating on the preparation of 1041s, 990s, and 5227s, and assisting with inputting tax-related information into software programs and TIAA systems.
- Participate in various projects supporting TIAA and business initiatives, including strategic planning to evolve TIAA's tax offering.
- Responsible for the analysis of GST trusts in partnership with the business.
- Support the preparation and implementation of tax filings for trusts and estates.
- Understand features and benefits of TIAA's products and investment strategies.
- Remain current and educate others in the business about fiduciary tax regulations at the federal, state, and local levels.
- University degree preferred.
- 3+ years required; 5+ years preferred.
- Sedentary work.

Required Experience- 3+ years of 1041 preparation experience.
- 5+ years of 1041 preparation.
- CPA or Enrolled Agent.
- Experience with One Source.
- Experience with trust tax payment.
- Experience responding to 1041 IRS and state notices.

SalaryBase Pay Range: $65,300 per year - $91,400 per year.
