The Indirect Tax Manager – United States and Canada will provide leadership, policy definition, and risk management to the Indirect Tax function for the United States and Canada. Responsibilities include oversight of outsourced compliance, engagement management, full audit cycle and post‑audit controversy resolution, planning, implementation of planning opportunities, risk management, contingency reporting, account determination, and business support.
Responsibilities- Manage a team of exempt individual contributors responsible for indirect tax in the US and Canada, including sales and use tax, property tax, business license, and goods and services tax where applicable.
- Set, monitor, and evaluate performance goals and objectives; staff project teams and ensure timely delivery of tax programs.
- Guide the team to define program parameters and set expectations, motivate, coach, and foster creativity.
- Review indirect tax issues across the responsible jurisdictions.
- Provide guidance on high‑complexity tax issues and oversee the assignment and review of tax returns and their financial, business, and legal outcomes.
- Recommend and approve audit settlements and identify potential compliance issues with appropriate solutions.
- Communicate and consult with senior management on strategic and tax‑related matters.
- Collaborate with senior business leaders to resolve highly complex tax issues and represent the company to external stakeholders, such as tax authorities.
- Develop relationships with tax industry professionals and organizations.
- Maintain current market trends and keep abreast of developments affecting GAAP and company policies.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of related indirect tax experience in the US with exposure to Canada.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Content expert in tax matters.
- Exceptional financial and business acumen with in‑depth industry knowledge.
- Advanced knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment related to federal and state income tax transactions.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills, including goal‑setting, conflict resolution, performance management, meeting leading, budget planning, problem solving, and evaluation.
- Excellent influence and negotiation skills; ability to persuade tax authorities and businesses to comply.
- Strong project management and process development capabilities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in written and verbal form, tailored to diverse audiences.
- Ability to think about treasury or financial accounting issues in addition to tax matters.

Annual Salary USD 135,000 – 310,500 in Texas. The listed range reflects base salary; variable incentives may also be offered.
