Oil and Gas​/Energy Finance Managed Services, Principal

Overview

Baker Tilly is a leading advisory, tax and assurance firm with a coast‑to‑coast and global presence, serving clients in major U.S. and international financial centers. This role is located at Baker Tilly, a licensed independent CPA firm in the Baker Tilly International network.

• Lead the Oil and Gas / Energy Finance Managed Services practice as the senior industry leader.
• Define the practice’s growth strategy, market priorities and solution focus.
• Build a differentiated point of view around finance managed services for the energy sector.
• Partner across the firm to align industry strategy, managed services capabilities and client priorities.
• Establish the practice as a recognized leader in finance operations and transformation for energy clients.
• Originate and close new business; build relationships with CFOs, CAOs, controllers, finance leaders, private equity sponsors and portfolio company executives.
• Lead strategic pursuits, solution development, executive presentations and pricing discussions.
• Develop and maintain a strong pipeline that supports practice growth goals.
• Shape finance managed services solutions for Oil and Gas / Energy clients, focusing on procure to pay, order to cash, FP&A support, close and consolidation, management reporting, technical accounting, finance data and analytics, working capital, cash visibility, controls and compliance, and ERP/application support.
• Provide executive advisory on finance transformations, modernizations, process redesigns, control enhancements and operating model evolution.
• Act as the executive sponsor for priority client relationships within the practice.
• Collaborate with delivery leaders to ensure solutions are practical, scalable and aligned with client outcomes.
• Inform talent strategy for the practice, including capability and leadership needs.
• Contribute to playbook development, solution assets and industry‑specific offerings, and support recruitment, mentoring and talent development.
• Provide leadership input into annual planning, forecasting and investment priorities.

• 20+ years of experience in finance, consulting, managed services or transformation, with significant experience in Oil and Gas or Energy.
• Proven leadership experience in building or scaling a practice, service line or industry vertical.
• Deep understanding of finance operating models and managed services solutions.
• Strong commercial track record with demonstrated success in business development and executive relationship management.
• Experience advising CFOs, controllers and finance leadership on transformation, performance improvement and finance operations.
