Position: Associate Financial Consultant (AFC National Plan Event Team)

Position Summary

The Associate Financial Consultant assists and answers questions through virtual interactions for all participants, new entrants, prospects, beneficiaries and their legal and financial representatives on the complete spectrum of TIAA products and services. As a part of TIAA's Individual Advisory Center, this job covers institutions aligned to regional structures and offers financial planning advice via phone and video chat to help clients accomplish their immediate and long‑term financial goals.

During the initial period of employment you will receive training on TIAA's products and the role will be non‑exempt, meaning you will be paid on an hourly basis and eligible for overtime pay. After the training period the role will become exempt and you will be paid on a salaried basis at the same rate (your weekly salary will equal your hourly rate multiplied by 40) and you will no longer be eligible for overtime pay.

All licenses must be obtained within 120 days from the start date.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Answers participant questions on their pension plans, tax‑deferred annuities and other available investment options in order to help clients retain and grow assets.
  • Educates and facilitates new product purchases (including retail mutual funds, annuities, IRAs, 529 and 403(b), bank products, life insurance and others) and provides authoritative information upon which important personal financial planning decisions are based.
  • Interacts with retirement plan participants to provide exceptional customer service and execute transaction and service requests.
  • Utilizes knowledge of tax and investment strategies to inform financial advice based on clients' financial needs and objectives.
  • Communicates internally with cross‑business partnerships to develop and implement TIAA products and services to support clients and company initiatives.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with Institutional Plan Sponsors.
Educational Requirements
  • University (Degree) Preferred
Work Experience
  • 2+ Years Required; 3+ Years Preferred
FINRA Registrations
  • SRC Indicator:
    Series 7;
    Series 63
Licenses and Certifications
  • Life and Health Insurance License (Resident State) – Multiple issuers required within 120 days.

Compensation

Anticipated posting end date:
July 31, 2026.

Base Pay Range: $62,900 per year – $91,700 per year. Actual base salary may vary depending on relevant experience, time in role, internal peers, performance, business sector and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include participation in an incentive program linked to performance, such as annual discretionary incentive programs, non‑annual sales incentive plans, or other non‑annual incentive plans.
