Speech Pathologist - PRN
- Day Position

Baylor Scott & White The Heart Hospital
- Frisco, Texas

Job Summary: The Speech Language Pathologist PRN plans and delivers speech language pathology services. This includes evaluation, treatment, and education programs for patients to restore speech, language, and swallowing abilities.

Essential Functions of the Role
  • Evaluates, treats, and monitors patients within the speech pathology treatment plan, and modifies therapy programs and goals.
  • Performs thorough and concise clinical documentation in a timely manner, enters charges accurately, and understands reimbursement related to the practice setting.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, families, coworkers, and the medical care team, and provides education to patients, families, and staff.
  • Supervises students and volunteers and mentors clinical fellows in accordance with American Speech-Language-Hearing Association supervision guidelines.
  • Advances clinical skills through ongoing education, literature review, and evidence-based practice; shares knowledge to develop colleagues’ clinical skills.
  • Adheres to organizational, national, and state regulatory guidelines and maintains awareness of system goals, aligning personal goals and work activities to support them.

  • Excellent social‑relation skills, including oral and written communication.
  • Demonstrated aptitude in assigned areas as specified for each clinician.
  • Proven face‑to‑face synergy and leadership skills with all levels of the healthcare team, ensuring delivery of excellent customer service.
  • Proficient computer knowledge, operating multiple computer systems and standard rehabilitation equipment.
  • High attention to detail in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining a high level of productivity.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology.
  • Experience:

    Less than 1 year of experience.
  • Certification/License/Registration:
    Speech Language Pathologist (SLP).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS certification or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
