We are seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) / Nurse Practitioner (NP) to become a part of our team! The purpose of this role is to provide patient care assistance in a clinical setting and/or hospital, under the supervision of a Gastroenterologist physician.
- Provide scheduled patient services under the direct supervision and responsibility of a physician.
- Elicit detailed patient histories and perform complete physical examinations.
- Determine tentative diagnosis and order appropriate laboratory tests.
- Counsel patient and family on health, test/lab results, and disease management.
- Communicate with collaborating physician or specialist regarding patient care.
- Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities.
- Adhere to the standards of medical ethics and laws governing patient care and the practice of medicine.
- Maintain in good standing licensure with the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners.
- Participate in all continuing education, training and other requirements to remain in good standing for credentialing purposes at assigned medical facilities.
- Comply with all federal and state regulations related to the position, and all company policies.
- Provide patient services at Prosper, Frisco, McKinney and other locations, as required.
- Work a flexible schedule as dictated by business need and operation (training provided on a need basis).

- PA Requirement: A degree from a Physician Assistant Degree program. Licensed as a PA by the Texas Board of Medical Examiners.
- NP Requirement: A Master’s degree in Nursing. Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) and NP by the Texas Board of Nursing.
- Previous experience in nursing or other medical fields.
- Gastrointestinal experience is preferred.
- Ability to build rapport with patients.
- Ethical Conduct & Decision Making.
- Communications Proficiency & Presentation Skills.
Standard hospital, clinical and/or surgical environment. Biohazard materials may be present. This role routinely uses standard office and medical equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, and surgical instruments.
Physical Requirements- Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers, handle or feel objects/tools.
- Required to reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk, hear, taste or smell.
- Must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
