CT Technologist (Full Time)

The CT Technologist performs computed tomography (CT) imaging procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role requires technical expertise and attention to patient safety, while maintaining high standards of quality care. The CT Technologist reports to the Office Manager of Blue Star Imaging and is a full-time position based in Frisco, TX.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform CT scans according to established protocols and physician orders
  • Prepare patients for CT procedures, including explaining exams and addressing concerns
  • Ensure proper patient positioning and image quality
  • Administer contrast media as required, following safety guidelines and protocols
  • Monitor patients during procedures for adverse reactions or complications
  • Operate and maintain CT equipment; report malfunctions as needed
  • Adhere to radiation safety principles and ALARA standards
  • Accurately document patient information, procedures, and imaging data in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
  • Collaborate with radiologists, and other healthcare staff to ensure optimal patient care
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1-year clinical experience in CT
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT[R]) by ARRT
  • Advanced certification in Computed Tomography (CT) or CT registry eligible
  • Must possess and maintain a current, active, unrestricted license in the state of Texas
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to varying workloads
  • Familiarity with PACS and EMR systems
  • Prior CT experience in a hospital or outpatient imaging setting is preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize normal vs. abnormal findings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Ability to assist and position patients, including lifting up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
  • Physical stamina to stand for hours, bend, lean, squat, and/or sit as needed throughout the day.
  • Manual dexterity to operate equipment and computer systems.
  • Good vision and hearing for accurate assessment of images and patient communication.
