Night Auditor

Department: Front Office

Purpose: To reconcile the business of the day and ensure a smooth, efficient operation of the front desk during the 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM shift.

Reports to: Night Audit Manager / Chief Night Auditor

• Perform system saves during the night audit shift to ensure a current backup of the hotel files is available.
• Post and audit banquet checks in order of the banquet summary sheet.
• Reconcile all Food and Beverage outlet postings.
• Verify front‑desk cashier work is balanced.
• Perform an accurate bucket check of all in‑house registration cards.
• Ensure all guest accounts are accurately posted with room and tax.
• Perform nightly IBM maintenance by monitoring file sizes and performing weekly and monthly reorgs.
• Ensure completion of all H.I.S. night audit functions.
• Distribute close‑day reports and morning reports to the appropriate departments.
• Transmit accurate data to Corporate.
• Prepare and distribute the Daily Report (Daily Business Summary DBS).
