The Human Resources Director is responsible for leading and actively executing the organization’s human resources strategy and daily operations. This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring both strategic insight and direct involvement in day‑to‑day HR execution. The Director serves as a trusted advisor to leadership while working side‑by‑side with teams to drive results, solve problems, and enhance the overall employee experience.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Execution- Develop and implement human resources strategies aligned with business objectives, including talent acquisition, workforce planning, compensation, employee development, and retention.
- Partner closely with executive leadership to anticipate organizational needs and proactively address talent and culture priorities.
- Balance strategic oversight with active, day‑to‑day execution of HR initiatives and priorities.
- Contribute to financial planning through forecasting, budgeting, and aligning HR resources to organizational needs.
- Act as a trusted advisor to leadership, providing guidance on employee relations, organizational structure, workforce planning, and performance management.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across the organization to support business goals and foster a high‑performance, engaged culture.
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of HR policies, procedures, and programs.
- Actively support and execute core HR processes, ensuring high‑quality, timely delivery.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Stay current on legislative changes and proactively advise leadership on impacts and required actions.
- Lead and conduct thorough, objective investigations and manage complex employee relations matters with discretion and professionalism.
- Drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement, retention, and overall team effectiveness.
- Identify training and development needs and ensure practical, actionable solutions are implemented.
- Provide hands‑on coaching and guidance to managers in performance management, employee relations, and team leadership.
- Strengthen employee engagement through consistent, clear, and timely communication.
- Support the development and delivery of HR communications, tools, and resources that enable leaders and employees to be successful.
- Champion initiatives that foster an inclusive, collaborative, and high‑accountability culture.
- Lead and develop HR team members, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain direct involvement in key projects and initiatives, ensuring quality execution and measurable outcomes.
- Oversee and contribute to special projects as needed, with a willingness to step in wherever required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred
- 10+ years of progressive HR generalist experience
- 4+ years of leadership experience within human resources
- Demonstrated expertise across core HR disciplines, including employee relations, talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, and employment law
- Proven ability to both develop strategy and execute tactically in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong communication, relationship‑building, and influencing skills across all levels of the organization
- High level of discretion and judgment in handling confidential information
- Demonstrated experience leveraging modern HR technologies and systems to improve efficiency, reporting, and employee experience
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, UKG, ADP, or similar) including reporting, data management, and workflows
- Strong capability using data and analytics to inform decisions, identify trends, and drive action
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook), with the ability to build clear, executive‑ready materials
