Infrastructure & Security Engineer

The Infrastructure & Security Engineer is a senior technical role responsible for the design, security, reliability, and standardization of Bond Orthodontic Partners’ infrastructure across corporate offices and orthodontic practices. This role owns network infrastructure, cybersecurity (endpoint, network, and cloud), data backup and retention, and physical security systems to ensure secure, resilient, and compliant operations.

This position serves as the primary technical authority for infrastructure and security, partnering closely with IT leadership, vendors, and internal stakeholders to protect clinical systems, patient data, and business continuity.

• Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available network infrastructure across all practices and corporate environments.
• Configure and manage network components including switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, wireless networks, and SD-WAN solutions.
• Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity; proactively identify and remediate issues.
• Lead infrastructure upgrades, standardization initiatives, and technical integration of new practices.
• Maintain detailed documentation including network diagrams, standards, configurations, and operating procedures.

• Own endpoint security strategy including EDR, patch management, device hardening, and security policy enforcement.
• Design and enforce network security controls such as firewalls, segmentation, VPN access, and intrusion prevention.
• Implement and manage cloud security controls across Microsoft 365, Entra  (Azure AD), and related cloud platforms.
• Monitor security alerts and events; coordinate incident response and remediation with internal teams and vendors.
• Perform regular security assessments, vulnerability remediation, and risk reviews.
• Ensure infrastructure and security controls align with HIPAA and healthcare security best practices.

• Design, implement, and manage enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions for servers, endpoints, and critical systems.
• Ensure backups are encrypted, monitored, tested, and recoverable.
• Define and enforce data retention and recovery policies aligned with business, legal, and compliance requirements.
• Conduct disaster recovery testing and support business continuity planning.
• Manage backup vendors, platforms, and SLAs, ensuring RPO/RTO objectives are met.

• Own the design, implementation, and management of physical security systems across corporate offices and orthodontic practices.
• Administer and support:
  • Alarm systems (intrusion and integrated fire systems where applicable)
  • Video surveillance systems (cameras, NVRs, cloud-based platforms)
  • Secure access systems (badge access, door controllers, role-based permissions)
• Standardize physical security platforms across practices to enable centralized visibility and consistent controls.
• Manage vendors responsible for installation, monitoring, maintenance, and support of physical security systems.
• Coordinate access provisioning and deprovisioning in alignment with employee onboarding and termination processes.
• Monitor physical security alerts and incidents; support investigations and remediation.
• Maintain documentation for physical security layouts, access controls, and escalation procedures.
• Ensure physical security safeguards align with HIPAA administrative, technical, and physical safeguard requirements.

• Serve as a senior escalation point for complex infrastructure, security, and recovery issues.
• Partner with IT leadership on architecture decisions, risk management, and long-term infrastructure roadmap planning.
• Collaborate with clinical, operational, and vendor teams to support practice needs.
• Provide technical guidance, documentation, and leadership within the IT organization.
• Communicate risks, incidents, and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in network engineering or similar role, preferably in an orthodontic or general dentistry setting.
• Proven 2-3 years of experience with network design and implementation.
