As a Principal UX Product Designer, you will drive and implement AI design strategy across complex, AI-first applications and problem spaces by partnering with design teams, product stakeholders, and senior leadership. You will work at the intersection of user experience, product strategy, and applied AI, translating model capabilities into intuitive, trustworthy workflows. You will collaborate across design, engineering, product management, data science, and leadership throughout the product lifecycle to deliver high-impact experiences that simplify complex tasks.

About the Role:

In this role you will:

Responsibilities and Focus Areas

Strategic Design Leadership
  • Lead the end-to-end design of AI-powered experiences across multiple product lines, including agentic workflows, generative interactions, and human-in-the-loop systems
  • Define and evangelize UX strategy across complex problem spaces, influencing product roadmaps and priorities
  • Serve as a design thought leader for useful, usable, and desirable AI-powered products in a team environment
  • Mentor designers and lead strategic thinking in ambiguous situations
  • Contribute to internal design standards for AI patterns, guidelines, evaluation criteria, and UX quality benchmarks
AI & Innovation
  • Translate model behaviors and system constraints into coherent UX patterns to drive trust and adoption
  • Prototype with real AI/LLM models to evaluate prompts and inform product direction
  • Design collaboration patterns between users and AI, defining when AI acts autonomously and how handoffs occur
  • Create interaction flows with transparency moments, safety guardrails, override options, and recovery states
  • Partner with data science and engineering to shape model requirements and align system behaviors with user needs
  • Champion responsible AI principles including transparency, fairness, bias mitigation, and user empowerment
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Influence
  • Collaborate with design, program, engineering, data science, and product teams from concept to solution, setting UX guidelines and producing assets for market
  • Present solutions to design, product, engineering, and senior leadership; synthesize feedback and iterate accordingly
  • Communicate design decisions clearly, influence senior stakeholders, and guide teams through evolving problem spaces
  • Work with executives and teams across the organization to drive alignment on cross-organizational initiatives
User-Centered Design & Research
  • Develop use cases and high-level requirements while defining UX strategy and user-centered designs from feedback, market analysis, and usability findings
  • Partner with UX Research to run usability testing and AI-specific validation studies to understand mental models and trust
  • Use qualitative and quantitative data to run evaluative studies for AI features (e.g., prompt quality, hallucination risk, trust signals)
  • Iterate and evolve how we design and learn from customers
  • Demonstrate systems-thinking across UI, data inputs, model constraints, and operational workflows
Mentorship & Design Excellence
  • Mentor and coach designers to elevate design craft and strategic thinking
  • Model best practices in design process, critique, and collaboration
