IT Business Analyst, Business Systems/ Tech Analyst
Our client is seeking a Dynamics BC ERP Techno-Functional Analyst to serve as a key resource for supporting, improving, and extending Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central across core business operations. This role will work 2 days a week on-site near Frisco, TX and combines functional business process knowledge, end‑user support, configuration, reporting, and light‑to‑moderate technical capability to help ensure the ERP system remains stable, effective, and aligned with organizational needs.
This individual will partner closely with stakeholders across Sales, Purchasing, Finance, Inventory, and Warehouse Operations to troubleshoot issues, improve workflows, document requirements, support reporting needs, and coordinate system enhancements. The ideal candidate brings a strong customer‑service mindset, hands‑on Business Central experience, and the ability to translate business requirements into practical system solutions.
This role is 2 days a week on‑site near Frisco, TX
, with limited occasional flexibility based on business needs. Participation in occasional after‑hours support or release activities may be required.
- Functional Support & Administration: Serve as the day‑to‑day Business Central resource for end users across core operational and financial workflows (Order‑to‑Cash, Procure‑to‑Pay, Record‑to‑Report, and Warehouse Management). Monitor recurring issues, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions to drive process consistency.
- System Optimization & Configuration: Assist with configuring, extending, and optimizing the ERP to support evolving business requirements. Partner with internal teams and external development resources to design, test, and maintain upgrade‑safe extensions, pages, queries, reports, and workflows.
- Reporting & Integrations: Support data sharing and reporting needs through standard and custom layouts. Assist with integrations using Business Central APIs, web services, and middleware tools in coordination with technical resources to reduce operational friction.
- Requirements, Testing & Training: Gather business requirements and translate them into clear functional specifications. Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT), manage issue tracking, and develop comprehensive training materials, quick‑reference guides, and FAQs to improve system adoption.
- At least 3 or 4 years of hands‑on experience (the more the better) supporting Microsoft Dynamics NAV and/or Dynamics 365 Business Central in a techno‑functional, systems analyst, or ERP support role.
- Core Workflow Expertise: Strong functional knowledge and demonstrated understanding of Sales, Purchasing, Finance/Accounting, Inventory Planning, and Warehouse Management processes within Business Central.
- Technical Foundations: Proven experience creating or modifying reports, workflows, pages, queries, and related BC objects, alongside exposure to AL development, extensions, and customization best practices.
- Problem‑Solving & Communication: Strong analytical thinking and root‑cause analysis skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to non‑technical business users.
- Integration
Experience:
Familiarity or hands‑on experience with BC APIs, OData/SOAP web services, and middleware integration solutions. - Advanced Support
Skills:
Experience navigating production support, change control management, and maintaining internal audit/security compliance standardizations. - Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Accounting, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience).
