Overview
The Senior Cloud Architect is a key technical contributor responsible for designing andoptimizingcloud infrastructure to support tolling solutions. This role focuses on architecting scalable, secure, and resilient cloud environments and corporate networks that enable seamless integration between roadside tolling systems, edge devices, and back-office platforms.
Operating as a senior-level individual contributor, the Cloud Architect applies deep technicalexpertiseto develop solutions that ensure reliable, real-time data exchange,accuratetransaction processing, and compliance with industry standards. This role partners closely with engineering, product, and operations teams, providing technical leadership and guidance without direct people management responsibilities. The Cloud Architect plays a critical role in advancing the company’s intelligent transportation and tolling initiatives through cloud-native innovation and best practices.
ResponsibilitiesCloud Architecture & Design
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient cloud architectures.
- Architect data pipelines for real-time ingestion, processing, and storage of transportation data, ensuring performance and reliability.
- Continuously assess and refine cloud designs to align with evolving business and technical requirements.
- Evaluate current network systems and develop architectural blueprints.
- Collaborate with IT teams and executive leadership to align network strategies with organizational goals.
- Manage network upgrades, troubleshoot issues, and document network configurations.
- Oversee network security at an enterprise level.
- Implement cloud security measures, including encryption, identity management, and access controls, ensuring compliance with industry regulations (e.g., NIST, ISO, transportation standards).
- Support audits and security assessments by providing cloud architecture documentation and expertise.
- Contribute to the development of cloud governance policies and standards.
- Serve as a key technical resource and advisor to software engineers, Dev Ops teams, and product stakeholders.
- Lead architecture reviews and provide guidance on cloud best practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend new cloud technologies or services that enhance roadside delivery capabilities.
- Act as a subject matter expert in cross-team discussions, offering deep technical insight without formal people management duties.
- Support cloud migration initiatives and infrastructure improvements, ensuring smooth deployment of roadside systems.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimizecloud environments to ensure high availability and performance.
- Develop and maintain
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates and documentation to streamline operations. - Identify opportunities to improve cloud cost efficiency and system scalability.

Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field;
Master’s degree preferred. - 7+ years of hands‑on experience in cloud architecture, design, and implementation using AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Proven expertise in designing hybrid cloud and edge computing solutions, ideally in real‑time or mission‑critical environments.
- Strong understanding of networking, IoT connectivity, cybersecurity principles, and cloud governance.
- Proven track record of leading network integration during acquisitions.
- Proficiency in:
- Containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Cloud Formation).
- CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops automation.
- Experience working with real‑time telemetry data, transportation systems, or V2X communication protocols is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with transportation industry standards and compliance requirements (e.g., NIST, ISO, ITS standards) is a plus.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to influence and guide technical teams through expertise—not direct management.
