Job DescriptionPosition Summary
The Claims Analyst supports the Risk Management Department in the administration, coordination, and monitoring of Workers’ Compensation and General Liability claims programs. This role serves as a key liaison between internal stakeholders, field operations, insurance carriers, third-party administrators (TPAs), brokers, and legal counsel to help ensure claims are reported, investigated, documented, and managed effectively throughout the claim lifecycle.
This position is responsible for claims analysis, reporting, compliance monitoring, documentation management, and trend identification. The Claims Analyst helps support cost containment efforts, timely claim handling, and reporting that enables informed decision-making and risk reduction across the organization.
Position Summary
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor Workers’ Compensation and General Liability claims throughout the claim lifecycle and coordinate timely handling with insurance carriers and third-party administrators (TPAs)
- Review claims and related documentation for accuracy, completeness, eligibility, and irregularities; follow up as needed to obtain required information
- Coordinate the reporting, documentation, investigation, and tracking of workplace injuries, incidents, and liability claims
- Maintain accurate claim records, loss data, and reporting within RMIS and other applicable systems
- Serve as a liaison among Risk Management, field operations, carriers, TPAs, brokers, legal counsel, and other stakeholders to support effective claim resolution
- Prepare and analyze claim reports, loss runs, dashboards, and trend data to support management decisions, cost control, and loss prevention efforts
- Identify claim trends, emerging risks, and operational issues, and recommend corrective actions to reduce claim costs and organizational risk
- Support return-to-work efforts, regulatory compliance, state filing requirements, audits, and required workers’ compensation documentation
- Provide claims process guidance and support to field leadership and operational teams, including training on reporting procedures and documentation expectations
- Participate in claim review meetings and escalate complex, high-exposure, or litigated claims as appropriate
- Monitor support and team turnover at the TPA and report any issues or turnover to the appropriate claims manager
- High school diploma required. Additional certifications or licenses in claims a plus.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in claims, risk management, insurance, or a related function.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and work with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Workers’ Compensation and General Liability claims processes.
- Ability to review claim files for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost containment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and RMIS platforms.
