Established in 2006, Quality Custom Distribution Services LLC (QCD), a subsidiary of GSF, is a custom last-mile distribution company specializing in tailored solutions for selected food service Industry customers. Headquartered in Frisco, Texas, QCD services thousands of restaurants throughout the United States. Providing over 37,000 deliveries a week from 25 strategically located distribution centers, the QCD fleet averages more than 40 million miles driven per year.

QCD associates also help run a national non-profit, the GSF Foundation.

Supply Planner

Reporting to our Supply Planning Supervisor, the Supply Planner will manage the creation and timely execution of purchase orders and inventory management in support of business objectives while maintaining lowest possible inventory levels and agreed upon service levels.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Create a purchase plan for the distribution centers to balance service and inventory.
  • Implements and maintains inventory strategies by regular review and optimization of supply planning parameters (Ex. Reorder points, safety stock, ABC categorization, MOQ).
  • Optimizing the balance of inventory across the supply chain network in line with target customer service levels, inventory, and safety stock levels for an allocated portfolio of SKUs for which accountable.
  • Own daily service management for their DC’s and develop action plans for continuous improvement while collaborating with demand planning and operations.
  • Conduct regular inventory level reviews related to high and low in-stock SKUs with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate and communicate with transportation/DC to expedite supply if needed.
  • Manage the potential obsolescence to minimize inventory liabilities and drive root cause problem solving and action planning/execution to reduce P&L impact.
  • Measure supply planning KPIs to improve and/or maintain business objectives as it pertains to the S&OP organization.
  • Manage the end to end process of PO creation to PO received by the DC in a timely manner.

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or related field preferred, not required.
  • Recent college graduates considered.
Experience
  • 1-3 years in a supply planning role.
  • Experience in S&OP or Integrated Business Planning processes preferred.
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including V lookups and Pivot tables.
  • Highly collaborative and comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically, a persistent attention to detail, and a high level of comfort managing competing priorities and working with ambiguity.
  • Proven ability to organize, analyze and present complex sets of data, utilizing both quantitative and qualitative information to identify patterns and discover new insights about our business.
  • Understanding of the end-to-end Supply Chain Functions.
