Business Management, Operations Manager
The branch leader has responsibility for managing all aspects of an assigned branch. Responsibilities include driving branch performance through leading, coaching and managing; business development; ensuring compliance with internal controls and risk management policies; managing human capital—including interviewing, selection, hiring, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and workforce scheduling; and may be cross‑trained to assist with teller transactions as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Promote a positive public image in the community and instill the Purpose, Mission and Values in the team and support the Truist culture.
- Drive the business development of the branch to deliver strong team and individual performance through personal productivity, focusing on Truist strategy, including Small Business, Mass Affluent, Community Heroes, and Integrated Relationship Management (IRM) partnership.
- Drive branch revenue through Small Business development and new client strategies, grow Small Business expertise through face‑to‑face appointments, outbound calling, and prospecting; grow Mass Affluent through appointments and calling.
- Participate as approved in civic, government, professional, business, community affairs, associations, and groups to prospect and develop new business through community involvement and building the Truist Brand.
- Lead, grow, coach and motivate teammates to fulfill the Purpose, Mission and Values for client financial success and team empowerment.
- Partner with Integrated Relationship Management (IRM) and Operations partners. Collaborate with the area operations officer to ensure compliance with bank procedures, internal controls, risk management and the Truist Code of Ethics; ensure training completion and promote One Team culture within the branch.
- Make human capital decisions including interviewing, selection, hiring, workforce scheduling, development planning, annual performance reviews, ratings, performance counseling, and disciplinary actions for all branch team members.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and related training or experience.
- Two years of financial services and consumer/small business expertise or equivalent experience and/or performance.
- One year of previous branch leadership or management experience.
- Strong interpersonal, sales relationship, and prioritization skills.
- Strong written and verbal skills.
- Must be SAFE Mortgage Licensing Act compliant within 30 days of employment in this role, including new or transfer of registration, and applicable NMLS background check.
- Ability to inspire, lead and coach others.
- Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Business, Accounting, Finance or Banking.
- Graduate of Internal Leadership Development Programs.
All regular teammates (not temporary or contingent workers) working 20 hours or more per week are eligible for benefits, though eligibility for specific benefits may be determined by the division of Truist offering the position. Truist offers medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, accidental death and dismemberment, tax‑preferred savings accounts, and a 401(k) plan. Teammates also receive no less than 10 days of vacation (prorated based on date of hire and by full‑time or part‑time status) during their first year of employment, along with 10 sick days (also prorated), and paid holidays.
Depending on the position and division, this job may also be eligible for Truist’s defined benefit pension plan, restricted stock units, and/or a deferred compensation plan.
