Position: Living Well Grocery Manager

The Living Well Grocery Manager is primarily responsible for guest relations and satisfaction. The manager oversees all products and activities within the Living Well Grocery department, prioritizing ultimate service through sales, guest service, and overall operations. Guest service duties include answering questions, directing guests to products, proactive selling, cross‑selling products, and providing information and education.

Key Responsibilities
  • When a guest enters the area, acknowledge, greet, and engage the guest.
  • Hire, train, and manage team performance.
  • Communicate information throughout the department.
  • Maintain a positive atmosphere, spirit, and morale.
  • Demonstrate effective leadership by managing time and delegation.
  • Develop team members and future leaders using available materials and systems.
  • Support and execute division concepts and programs.
  • Accountable for executing and meeting financial goals.
  • Identify opportunities throughout the store and department.
  • Ensure quality and consistent product availability for guests.
  • Safeguard, control, and monitor all department assets with proper policies and procedures.
  • Practice safe work habits; maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment.
  • Ensure department systems and processes are used consistently and correctly.
  • Plan production and promotion goals with the leadership team.
  • Verify team member schedules meet business needs.
  • Coach and discipline team members in accordance with policy.
  • Maintain updated books and manuals.
  • Oversee inventory processes and reporting.
  • Adhere to Food Safety Procedures.
  • Approve purchase orders and maintain adequate levels.
  • Implement and maintain display/end‑cap programs.
  • Stay current with new products and trends.
  • Encourage guest use of Health Notes computer.
  • Educate guests and team members about products.
  • Maintain stock levels and proper rotation of merchandise.
  • Ensure proper tagging of products.
  • Demonstrate good conflict management skills.
  • Perform other duties assigned by upper management.
Key Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Work scheduled shifts as needed to meet store needs.
  • Effective communication with all management levels.
  • Self‑motivation, problem‑solving, and minimal supervision.
  • Perform physical aspects of the position, including bending, squatting, standing, lifting up to 50 lbs., and pushing or pulling up to 100 lbs.
  • Basic math and computer skills (Word, Excel, Email).
  • Work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Maintain Certified Food Safety Manager certification.
  • Attend meetings, including out-of-town with overnight stays.
  • Transfer to another store within the area if required.
  • Function as a team member and maintain positive relationships.
  • Accept supervisory coaching related to performance, habits, and attitude.
