Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced ASC Administrator to lead the establishment of a new Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) in Frisco, TX. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully opening and managing surgery centers, with a strong preference for experience in ophthalmology, cornea and glaucoma procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the planning, development, and opening of the new surgery center.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, as well as accreditation requirements.
  • Develop operational policies and procedures to promote efficiency and patient safety.
  • Manage day‑to‑day operations, including staffing, scheduling, and inventory management.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to establish protocols for ophthalmology procedures.
  • Implement quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with physicians, staff, and vendors.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as an ASC Administrator, particularly in opening new centers.
  • Strong knowledge of Ophthalmology, Cataract, Cornea, Glaucoma and Retina.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with state regulations and accreditation standards in Texas.
  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or related field; advanced degree preferred.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent experience required with a minimum of four years supervisory/management experience.

Essential Functions
  • Leadership & Coordination
    • Allocate and complete assigned functions in daily operations.
    • Interpret departmental philosophy, objectives, policy, and procedure.
    • Assist surgeons through provisions of adequately prepared service team members.
    • Delegate responsibilities and duties to professional, technical, and ancillary personnel.
    • Coordinate administrative duties to ensure proper functioning of the staff.
    • Coordinate the provision and control of materials, supplies, and equipment with the Director of Supply.
    • Coordinate activity within the O.R. suite.
  • Fiscal Management
    • Monitor budget compliance in daily assessment of services activity.
    • Provide input into preparation of services budget.
  • Standards of Nursing Practice
    • Monitor compliance of staff members in the daily practice of nursing care.
    • Communicate compliance of nursing standards to Director of Operations.
  • Policies and Procedures
    • Monitor staff compliance with policy and procedures.
    • Interpret policy and procedures to staff members.
    • Enforce compliance with policy and procedures.
    • Communicate non‑compliance to the Director of Operations.
    • Provide counseling and disciplinary measures for non‑compliance.
  • Staffing and Utilization of Services Personnel
    • Assign services personnel based on levels of competency and patient needs.
    • Assure equitable staff assignments.
    • Participate in selection of services personnel after consulting the Director of Operations.
    • Complete and post services personnel schedule.
  • Staff Development
    • Participate in weekly nursing/clinical staff meetings.
    • Evaluate orientation program of all new nursing/clinical services personnel.
    • Communicate educational needs to Director of Operations.
    • Monitor staff compliance with annual re‑certification.
  • Services Environment
    • Monitor service environment daily and assure safety and infection control.
    • Review monthly radiation badge reports and take appropriate action.
    • Ensure staff participation and knowledge of fire and disaster safety.
    • Review electrical safety and assure equipment inspections every six months.
    • Review temperature and humidity controls and take corrective action as necessary.
    • Report environmental problems to the Director of Operations.
  • Performance Improvement Program
    • Review results of monthly improvement activity and report to staff.
    • Communicate with and provide input to the Chief Executive Officer regarding corrective action for performance improvement deficiencies.
