Position: PRN Registered Nurse (RN) Behavioral Health

Position
:
Registered Nurse (RN), Behavioral Health – Outpatient Services (PRN)

Responsibilities
  • Accurately perform patient assessments and identify patient needs.
  • Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Provide care appropriate to patient condition and age.
  • Perform timely and accurate documentation of medical necessity in the medical record.
  • Complete and revise the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
  • Perform timely and accurate quality improvement (QI) assessments.
  • Assess the patient and plan care within set time frames, documenting findings per policies.
  • Oversee and supervise the shift, delegating tasks such as group observation, meal supervision, etc.
  • Ensure staff follow nursing policies and procedures, delivering exemplary patient care.
  • Monitor patients for changes in condition and respond accordingly, including notifying the physician.
  • Follow hospital policy for medication administration.
  • Use empathy, dignity, and respect when interacting with patients.
  • Deliver quality nursing care to execute treatment plan goals per hospital policies and procedures and demonstrated nursing competencies.
  • Assist with or perform comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in nursing required.
  • Current Registered Nurse license as required by state regulations.
  • 1-year experience in a psychiatric health care facility preferred.
  • CPR certification required within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.
  • De‑escalation certification required within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
