Overview

Texas Oncology is looking for an Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at the Frisco location. This full‑time position operates Monday through Friday, 8:30 am–5 pm, with no weekends, on‑call, or major holiday coverage.

Under minimal supervision, the RN provides professional nursing care consistent with national and company standards. The role involves physical, psychological, and developmental assessment of patients across all ages, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and adhering to US Oncology compliance programs.

• Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of care.
• Assess patient and family needs, providing education and instructional material.
• Prepare and administer therapies under physician direction.
• Administer all medications and blood products accurately.
• Obtain pre‑authorization and consent forms before therapy administration.
• Modify doses by assessing patient labs and consulting protocols or treatment plans.
• Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central line devices.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and treatments.
• Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.

The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience:

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Current RN license and registration with the state board of nursing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Maintain continuing education requirements.

• Level I – 0–3 years of nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred.
• Level II – Minimum 3 years of nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred.
• Level Senior – Minimum 5 years of nursing experience, including at least 1 year in oncology; oncology certification preferred. In addition to Levels I and II, requires:
  • Minimum five (5) years of nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology.
  • Oncology certification preferred.

Full range of motion, handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, standing and walking for extensive periods, occasional lifting up to 40 lbs. Corrected vision and hearing to normal range required.
