The Nurse Navigator in Infusion serves as a clinical expert coordinating and administering patient care treatment regimens and program outreach for patients diagnosed with cancer. The Navigator assists patients and their families in navigating the wide array of services and programs offered by the hospital and community to meet their physical, emotional, and spiritual health needs. The role involves providing personalized clinical care, advocating whole‑person health, tailoring services to individual wellness needs, conducting health screenings, delivering patient education, and making appropriate referrals.
The Nurse Navigator collaborates closely with physicians, the healthcare team, and community partners, manages treatment regimens, and collects data on contacts and referrals as directed by the department manager. The position requires consistent demonstration of the PSJH core values and the hospital's mission statement.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- California Registered Nurse License (upon hire)
- National Provider BLS – American Heart Association (within 30 days of hire)
- Oncology related certification such as OCN, AOCN, AOCNP, AOCNS, CBCN, or NCBC – Breast Patient Navigator Certification (or completion within 1 year of hire)
- Current ONS chemotherapy administration card (upon hire)
- Five or more years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a healthcare setting
- Three or more years of experience in oncology nursing
- Master's Degree in Nursing
The position offers a base salary within the range of $56.44 to $87.63 per hour, with opportunities for shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. A $20,000 sign‑on bonus is available for eligible rehire and external candidates who meet all conditions for payment.
