Overview

Texas Oncology is seeking an Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to support the Infusion Department at our Frisco West location, with occasional visits to Frisco Centennial. The schedule is Monday‑Friday, 8:30a‑5p, with no weekends, on‑call, or major holiday work.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
  • Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material.
  • Prepare and administer therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician.
  • Administer all medications/blood products using correct medication/blood product, dosage/amount, route, time, and technique.
  • Ensure pre‑authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to therapy administration where applicable.
  • Facilitate dose modification by assessing patient, labs, consulting protocols or treatment plans, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage modifications, problems, and symptom management.
  • Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central line catheter devices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of assigned patient care and treatments provided.
  • Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program; BSN preferred.
  • Current RN state license and registration with the State Board of Nursing in the state of practice.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Maintain continuing education requirements.
  • Entry‑level experience: 0‑3 years of nursing experience; oncology experience strongly preferred.
  • Minimum three (3) years of nursing experience with oncology experience strongly preferred (Level II).
  • Minimum five (5) years of nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology; oncology certification preferred (Level Senior).
Working Conditions

The work environment is typical of an oncology/hematology clinic setting. Possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other common conditions.

Physical Requirements

Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. Standing and walking for extensive periods, occasionally lifting items up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
