North Dallas Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital (NDVESH) is seeking a board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Criticalist to join our growing Critical Care team in Frisco, Texas. You’ll join an established Critical Care service alongside an additional board-certified Criticalist and an experienced Emergency team, providing advanced care for complex and critically ill patients.
NDVESH is a brand-new, 13,000+ sq. ft. emergency and specialty hospital designed around advanced medicine and collaborative patient care. The hospital features a dedicated critical care/ICU with a separate feline ward, 6+ private exam rooms, two advanced surgical suites, in-house laboratory and pharmacy, a 32-slice CT, diagnostic ultrasound, and on-site endoscopy and dialysis.
Our Critical Care service manages a diverse range of complex cases and has access to advanced therapies including mechanical ventilation, oxygen therapy, blood transfusion, vasopressor therapy, hemodialysis, extracorporeal therapies, and advanced diagnostic imaging. You’ll work closely with Emergency, Surgery, and Nephrology & Urology to provide comprehensive care for critically ill patients.

- Provide advanced critical care for complex, unstable, and life-threatening cases in collaboration with the Emergency and Critical Care teams.
- Manage patients requiring advanced therapies including mechanical ventilation, high-flow oxygen, transfusion support, vasopressor therapy, and extracorporeal therapies.
- Utilize advanced diagnostics including CT, diagnostic ultrasound, endoscopy, and in-house laboratory capabilities to guide patient care.
- Collaborate closely with Emergency, Surgery, Nephrology & Urology, and other clinical services to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Support and mentor the Critical Care team while contributing to a collaborative, learning-focused environment.
- Build strong relationships with referring veterinarians through communication, consultation, and continuing education.
- Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to provide seamless, compassionate patient care.
- Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners during stressful and emotional situations.
- Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture built on collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning.
- DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure.
