Server

Servers are responsible for the customer experience, making this a crucial position in a restaurant. They welcome customers, take beverage and food orders, conduct satisfaction checks, place orders using the POS, act as a liaison between the kitchen and customers when needed, and collect payments for meals. Servers should be knowledgeable about menu items and able to answer questions regarding ingredients and dietary restrictions.

They are also in charge of financial duties like processing payments, manning the POS system, and managing the cash box. Ideal characteristics include knowledge of Point of Sale (POS) systems, the ability to calculate change quickly and accurately, friendliness when serving guests, an upbeat personality, multitasking under high pressure, and the ability to gain product knowledge about the menu, drinks, and product options.

• Efficiently operate a Point Of Sale (POS) system, including a Kitchen Display System (KDS).
• Be able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time.
• Be able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to reliably commute to the on-site location.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be over the age of 18 years old to be a server at Barrel House.
