Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated, relationship-driven Business Development Representative (BDR) to identify and develop new client opportunities for our Payroll, HR, Benefits, and workforce solutions.

This is a new-business development and prospecting role designed for someone who enjoys opening doors, connecting with business owners and decision-makers, and creating opportunities. The BDR will focus heavily on outbound prospecting, networking, referral development, and scheduling qualified appointments with prospective clients.

This is not a traditional account management position. Your primary responsibility is to build the pipeline and generate new client opportunities
.

The ideal candidate is competitive, professional, persistent, and comfortable communicating with business owners, executives, HR leaders, finance professionals, property management companies, and other organizational decision-makers.

What You'll Do Prospect & Generate New Business
  • Make consistent outbound calls to prospective clients to introduce our Payroll, HR, Benefits, and workforce solutions.
  • Identify businesses that may benefit from changing payroll providers, outsourcing HR functions, improving benefits administration, or consolidating workforce solutions.
  • Generate qualified appointments and new client opportunities through telephone prospecting, email outreach, Linked In, referrals, networking, and in‑person business development.
  • Research prospective companies and identify appropriate decision‑makers.
  • Develop targeted prospect lists and outreach strategies.
  • Follow up consistently with prospects throughout the sales cycle.
  • Re‑engage prospects based on payroll conversion dates, benefit renewal dates, organizational changes, and other potential buying opportunities.
Build Relationships
  • Develop relationships with business owners, executives, HR professionals, controllers, CFOs, operations leaders, and other key decision‑makers.
  • Establish referral relationships with CPAs, insurance brokers, benefits professionals, financial advisors, commercial bankers, business consultants, and other strategic partners.
  • Attend networking events, industry associations, business groups, and community events to expand the company's market presence.
  • Represent the company professionally and confidently in all client and prospect interactions.
  • Build long‑term relationships that generate referrals and future business opportunities.
Qualify Opportunities

Conduct initial discovery conversations to understand prospective clients' needs, including:

  • Current payroll and HR providers
  • Number of employees and locations
  • Payroll frequency
  • HR and compliance challenges
  • Benefits administration
  • Workers' compensation
  • Timekeeping and attendance
  • Recruiting and onboarding
  • Employee relations
  • HRIS technology
  • Current service challenges
  • Contract or renewal dates
  • Potential implementation timelines

Determine whether the prospect represents a qualified opportunity and coordinate the appropriate next steps with sales leadership.

Support the Sales Process
  • Schedule qualified discovery meetings, demonstrations, and proposal meetings.
  • Work closely with sales leadership and internal subject‑matter experts to develop solutions for prospective clients.
  • Assist with gathering information needed for pricing, proposals, demonstrations, and presentations.
  • Participate in prospect meetings when appropriate.
  • Maintain communication with prospects to keep opportunities moving forward.
  • Support a smooth transition from prospect to client after an agreement is executed.
Manage Your Pipeline
  • Maintain accurate and timely prospect information within the company's CRM.
  • Document calls, meetings, decision‑makers, follow‑up dates, opportunities, and next steps.
  • Maintain an organized pipeline of short‑term and long‑term opportunities.
  • Track prospect renewal dates and future follow‑up opportunities.
  • Meet established activity, appointment, pipeline, and revenue goals.
  • Provide regular pipeline updates…
