The mission of Speechify is to make sure that reading is never a barrier to learning. Over 50 million people use Speechify’s text-to-speech products to turn PDFs, books, Google Docs, news articles, and websites into audio, enabling faster and deeper learning.

We’re building a high‑quality, petabyte‑scale dataset pipeline to train speech‑to‑text models. The role owns end‑to‑end data collection, ingestion, and infrastructure on GCP using Terraform.

• Discover and acquire new audio sources, integrating them into the ingestion pipeline
• Operate and extend cloud infrastructure, ensuring reliability, cost, and performance
• Collaborate with data scientists to optimize cost/throughput/quality and deliver richer datasets for next‑generation models
• Partner with the AI team and leadership to define the dataset roadmap for consumer and enterprise products

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or a related field
• 5+ years of industry experience in software development
• Proficiency with Bash/Python scripting in Linux environments
• Experience with Docker, infrastructure‑as‑code, and at least one major cloud provider (GCP)
• Experience with web crawlers or large‑scale data processing (plus)
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and adapt to change
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

United States base salary range: $140,000‑$200,000, plus bonus and equity, commensurate with experience.
