We are currently seeking a Personal Training Coordinator who will Responsible for the day-to-day operations of fitness. This includes the onboarding, training, and supervision of staff. This position will coordinate all aspects of wellness including Personal Training, Fitness Floor, and Youth Fitness. Challenges will be to connect with members; aid them in meeting their wellness goals; engaging more youth, seniors and health seekers;
and increasing retention.
- Responsible for daily implementation of member engagement techniques by all wellness staff.
- Responsible for engaging new, returning and current members in YMCA activities.
- Train, supervise, recognize and motivate wellness staff. Directly supervise approximately 10 part-time staff.
- Ensure accuracy of data recording and reporting in a timely manner.
- Meet or exceed retention goals.
- Assure that all staff under the incumbent’s supervision understand and comply with all personnel & other policies established by the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas.
- Will require a flexible schedule including some nights and/or weekends.
- Provide leadership to Annual Partners Campaign and Community Events.
- Other job related duties as requested and necessary.
- An undergraduate degree in a related field and/or 4 years customer service and wellness experience.
- Must possess the physical, visual, and auditory capabilities to perform all job related responsibilities.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time, demonstrate all cardiovascular and weight machines, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to pass and maintain CPR, first aid, AED, blood borne pathogen, child abuse training certifications.
- A nationally recognized fitness certifications or YMCA certification is required. Must hold nationally recognized personal training certification from at least one of the following groups: ACSM, Cooper Institute, NSCA, NSCA CSCS, NASM, NCSF, NETA, IFPA, NFPT, or ACE.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills along with the ability to build a strong staff team that is focused on providing quality service.
- Enthusiasm, a professional personal image and the ability to work harmoniously with staff, members and volunteers are imperative.
- The Coordinator must possess the ability to creatively develop solutions and problem solve.
- Will be required to provide direct leadership for approximately 10 fitness-related staff.
