Warren County is seeking highly motivated and skilled candidates to fill the position of the Deputy Commissioner III
- Auditor. This is a full-time position that performs difficult skilled clerical and technical work assisting in the operations of the Commissioner of the Revenue.

• Conduct field investigations, discovery and audits of business establishments to determine tax liability for business personal property and license liability, while maintaining records and files, preparing reports, and assisting the public.
• Conduct various types of audits—including financial, compliance, and investigative reviews—to verify accuracy and completeness of tax returns for personal property and gross receipt business licenses; research and compile background information and code references; prepare responses to audit finding appeals; maintain case and statistical tracking to report progress and results of revenue audits; answer inquiries from customers; supervise staff; develop audit procedures;
  
  summon businesses and individuals; remain knowledgeable of latest legislation; and work with the Treasurer's department.

• Thorough knowledge of general laws and the administration of policies governing real and personal property.
• Thorough knowledge of State and local tax code pertaining to local business licensure.
• Thorough knowledge of modern office practices and standard office and accounting equipment, including computer equipment.
• Ability to plan and supervise the work of subordinates.
• Ability to prepare and maintain detailed financial records and reports.
• Ability to make arithmetical calculations quickly and accurately.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with State, County, and local officials, associates, tax preparers, attorneys, business owners and the general public.
• Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited community college with major coursework in business, accounting, finance or related field supplemented by specialized training in real and personal property assessments and moderate experience in local real or personal property tax work.

The starting salary is $55,172.33 depending on qualifications and experience, with an excellent benefits package.
