Job Details

Job Location:

Main Campus - Front Royal, VA 22630

TITLE:

Mid-Level Giving Officer

DEPARTMENT:
Advancement

Classification (FLSA):
Non-exempt, Hourly

REPORTS TO:

Major Gift Officer, Henry Love

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The mid-level giving officer is responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a portfolio of mid-level donors. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining a thriving donor base and a healthy donor pipeline, bridging the gap between the standard direct response and the major gift program. The objective is to increase annual giving, donor retention, and identify and promote prospects from the discovery pool.

The success of the mid-level program will be demonstrated by the retention of donors and the promotion of qualified donors from the mid-level giving pool into major gift officer portfolios.

HOURS:

20 hours/week, part-time. Scheduling is flexible within the week — since donor cultivation calls happen mostly in the evenings and other times donors are reachable outside standard business hours, the officer and manager will structure the 20 hours around when donors actually answer the phone, not a fixed daytime shift.

LOCATION:

Remote. Candidates based in or near Front Royal, VA are preferred, though not required, to allow for in‑person training and coaching.

CHIEF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manages and grows a portfolio of approximately 400 mid‑level donors
  • Cultivates personal relationships with mid‑level donors to deepen their engagement and strengthen their connection to the mission of Christendom College
  • Assesses each donor's interests, passions, communication preferences, and philanthropic motivations to determine the most appropriate level of engagement
  • Maximizes donor retention, increases annual giving, and promotes qualified donors into major gift officer and planned giving portfolios
  • Leverages, when necessary, multiple communication channels—including email, webinars, and mailings—to enhance donor engagement and respect donor communication preferences
  • Provides accurate records of all completed actions, current donor contact information, and donor interactions in the donor database
  • Conducts high-volume outbound calls to donors, with a primary focus on discovery
  • Executes thank‑you actions within 24 hours and completes all open actions within two weeks
  • Responds promptly and professionally to donor inquiries and communications

Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
