Instructor / Assistant Professor of Biology - Wildlife Biologist

Frostburg State University, College of Humanities, Arts & Sciences, seeks applications for a full-time tenure-track Instructor / Assistant Professor of Biology. This position is available to begin Fall 2026 for the main campus in Frostburg, Maryland. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications;

Responsibilities:
The Department of Biology at Frostburg State University seeks a broadly trained Wildlife Biologist to support our undergraduate and graduate programs in Biology, Wildlife, Interpretation, and Conservation. Responsibilities include teaching courses in Wildlife Management, Wildlife Techniques, and other undergraduate and graduate courses to support departmental needs. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to mentor masters'-level graduate students and undergraduate researchers.

Duties will also include student advising, professional development activities, and service to the Department, College, University, and community.

Minimum Qualifications:

ABD or Doctoral degree in biology, ecology, or a closely related field. The candidate must have a strong background in wildlife biology, and familiarity with statistics is preferred. Experience teaching in higher education and/or relevant research experience is a plus. Desire to mentor graduate students through thesis research is preferred.

If selected candidate is ABD, they will be hired at the rank of Instructor, with the requirement that the candidate finish the doctoral degree within the first year of employment.
