Our client, in the food manufacturing industry, is seeking a Plant Sanitation/Quality Control Specialist to join their team. As a Plant Sanitation/Quality Control Specialist, you will be part of the Quality Assurance Department supporting the plant operations team. The ideal candidate will have attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to food safety and quality, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Plant Sanitation/Quality Control Specialist

Location: Frostburg, MD

Pay Range: $35000 - $50000

What's the Job?

  • Oversee sanitation activities to ensure equipment, tools, and production areas meet company, quality, food safety, and SQF certification requirements.
  • Help maintain and update food safety and sanitation programs, SOPs, and policies.
  • Verify that all cleaning activities are completed, logged, and filed according to the required frequency; document all non-conformances; and review with team members and the Plant Manager.
  • Complete routine inspections, including glass and brittle plastic checklists, daily pre-operation inspections, and facility/building inspections to ensure proper cleanliness.
  • Conduct required testing (e.g., monthly magnetic pull test, environmental swabs, quarterly water testing) and review results.

What's Needed?

  • High school diploma required;
    Bachelor’s degree in applicable field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of quality experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with HACCP, GMPs, food safety regulations, and SQF certification requirements preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills required, including the ability to interact across organizational levels.
  • Physical ability to lift, move, and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds; comfortable working on-site in varying weather conditions.
