Assistant Director Of Nursing

We are seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to assist the Director of Nursing in leading the clinical team in providing quality care to residents. Job Responsibilities

As an Assistant Director of Nursing, you will report directly to the Director of Nursing and cover when the Director is not in the facility. Your duties will include:

  • Creating a safe, healthy work environment that supports delivery of high-quality resident care
  • Creating a culture where highly engaged team members are able to contribute to the best in resident care and to grow professionally
  • Assuring the best resident care by supervising and directing Nursing Personnel
  • Serving as a liaison for all nursing staff and nurse management
  • Making decisions regarding nursing and unit problems
  • Participating in facility surveys
  • Communicating effectively with staff, physicians, and resident families
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current Registered Nurse/RN licensure
  • Minimum 1 year full-time or equivalent clinical experience preferred
  • Two years of clinical experience in long-term care nursing with one year as an educator preferred
  • Experience with Infection Control and Prevention preferred
  • Excellence in clinical nursing skills required
  • Experience in Gerontology preferred
