Essentials Functions- Reliable and punctual attendance is essential; expected to be at job as scheduled each scheduled day.
- Communicate necessary information to others as appropriate.
- Obtain and document physical and neurologic assessments of hospital and/or emergency department patients.
- Initiate proper emergency care as necessary.
- Notify the physician of significant changes in patient condition during hospital or emergency department visits.
- Receive, carry out, and document physician’s orders in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Assist physician with medical procedures.
- Safely and correctly perform all procedures within scope of nursing practice.
- Demonstrate knowledge of medication dosages, routes, and actions through careful administration of medication ordered utilizing the 7 patient rights.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Stock supplies and medications as needed.
- Teach and maintain standard/special precautions to patients, families, and other caregivers as indicated.
- Identify patient needs, participate in formal weekly care plan reviews, initiate care planning and implement plan of care in conjunction with other disciplines.
- Direct and assist with patient mobility, hygiene, and ADL’s.
- Assure that all records required for admission, i.e. consents, 2‑day discharge notices, etc. are completed.
- Complete accurate documentation of assessments, observations, situations and events.
- Participate in continuing educational events.
- Conduct formal and informal teaching of patients, families and staff.
- Maintain protection of patient’s rights to privacy and dignity.
- Display courteous and professional interactions with the public and staff members.
- Display excellent team player skills and coaching skills for all staff.
- Attend skills days annually and maintain/completed required competencies on time.
- Responsible for monitoring daily labs/radiology reports and notifying physicians with any issues.
- Follow hospital/department policies and procedures.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
Associate’s Degree in Nursing.
Licenses & CertificationsCurrent unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the State of Colorado.
Current BLS upon hire, ACLS/PALS within 6 months of hire.
ExperienceA minimum of 1 year of inpatient experience preferred.
CompensationWAGE STARTS at $34.60 plus 15% for PRN
