Lighting Technician/Apprentice Electrician - CO - LOCAL/TRAVEL

NSC is seeking an Apprentice Electricians to complete an LED lighting retrofit at public school. The electrician will replace and retrofit existing lighting systems while ensuring all work is completed safely, correctly, and with minimal disruption to school operations. PAY: $27.65/hr

Responsibilities
  • Remove existing light fixtures, lamps, ballasts, and related components.
  • Install LED fixtures, retrofit kits, drivers, occupancy sensors, and lighting controls.
  • Complete wiring, terminations, and minor circuit modifications as needed.
  • Troubleshoot lighting circuits and correct installation issues.
  • Test completed fixtures and controls to confirm proper operation.
  • Read electrical drawings, fixture schedules, and project specifications.
  • Operate ladders, scissor lifts, and other required equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area within an active school environment.
  • Follow NEC requirements, site safety procedures, and local electrical codes.
  • Coordinate with the project supervisor to meet production schedules and deadlines.
Requirements
  • Active Journeyman Electrician license.
  • Previous commercial electrical experience.
  • Lighting retrofit or LED installation experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot 120V and 277V lighting systems.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and identify circuits.
  • Must provide standard electrical hand tools and required PPE.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain production expectations.
  • Professional conduct and appearance appropriate for a public school environment.
  • Ability to pass required background screening and drug testing.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work from ladders or lifts for extended periods.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, nights, weekends, or other off-hours when required to avoid disrupting school operations.
