About the job Technical Sales Manager – RO & Water Treatment ChemicalsWe are expanding our water treatment chemicals business in the UAE, with an initial focus on reverse osmosis and membrane treatment chemicals. We are looking for a Technical Sales Manager who can develop new business, work directly with technical customers, conduct site visits, support product trials and convert opportunities into recurring chemical supply contracts.
The ideal candidate should combine strong B2B sales skills with practical technical understanding of RO systems, membrane chemicals and industrial water treatment applications.
Key responsibilities
- Develop sales of RO and membrane treatment chemicals across the UAE.
- Identify and approach new customers, including RO plant operators, O&M companies, water treatment service companies, OEMs, EPC contractors, facility management companies, hotels, food and beverage producers, district cooling operators and industrial plants.
- Conduct site visits and technical discussions with engineers, operators and maintenance teams.
- Collect technical data from RO systems, including water analysis, plant capacity, recovery, membrane type, flow rates, pressure trends, cleaning history and current chemical program.
- Promote RO antiscalants, membrane cleaners, biocides, preservatives and related water treatment chemicals.
- Work with internal technical teams to prepare dosing recommendations, treatment proposals, trial plans and commercial offers.
- Manage product trials, monitor performance and convert successful trials into regular supply agreements.
- Build long-term relationships with customers, distributors, service partners and technical decision makers.
- Prepare quotations, negotiate prices and commercial terms, and follow up until order closure.
- Maintain CRM records, sales pipeline, visit reports and monthly forecasts.
- Monitor competitor products, market prices and customer feedback.
- Support expansion into boiler and cooling water treatment chemicals after the RO segment is established.
Required qualifications and experience
- Minimum 5 years of B2B technical sales experience in water treatment chemicals, industrial chemicals, membrane chemicals or related technical services.
- Strong understanding of reverse osmosis systems and membrane treatment challenges.
- Experience with RO antiscalants, membrane cleaners, biocides, chemical dosing or CIP cleaning is highly preferred.
- Ability to understand and discuss basic water analysis, including TDS, hardness, calcium, magnesium, sulfate, silica, alkalinity, pH, iron, chlorine, ORP and conductivity.
- Experience selling to industrial or commercial customers such as RO operators, O&M companies, facility management companies, hotels, food and beverage plants, district cooling, manufacturing companies, EPC contractors or OEMs.
- Ability to conduct technical site surveys and identify customer problems related to scaling, fouling, biofouling, high differential pressure, reduced permeate flow or increased cleaning frequency.
- Proven track record in new business development, account management, technical selling and closing recurring supply contracts.
- Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Fluent English is required.
- UAE driving license is strongly preferred.
- Existing customer network in the UAE or GCC water treatment market is a strong advantage.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry or a related technical field is preferred.
- Strong practical experience in RO systems or water treatment chemicals may be considered instead of formal engineering education.
Preferred skills
- Experience in UAE or GCC water treatment market.
- Experience with boiler and cooling water treatment chemicals.
- Knowledge of membrane performance monitoring, CIP procedures and chemical dosing systems.
- Understanding of SDS, TDS, GHS labeling and chemical handling requirements.
- Arabic language is an advantage.
- Experience working with distributors, RO service companies, EPCs, OEMs or industrial utilities.
- Ability to launch and develop a new product line in a competitive market.
Candidate profile
We are looking for a proactive technical sales professional who is comfortable visiting customer sites, speaking with engineers, understanding technical problems and converting them into commercial opportunities.
The successful candidate should be a hunter, not only an account manager. He or she must be able to build a sales pipeline from zero, open new accounts, manage trials and develop long-term customer relationships.
