Within the Division of Administration and Finance, the Financial Services department is dedicated to financial stewardship, operational efficiency, and the development of essential financial infrastructure to support the University’s strategic objectives and ensure adherence to CSU policies. We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Administrative Support Coordinator I. Dutiesand Responsibilities
The Administrative Support Coordinator I provides comprehensive administrative, operational, and coordination support for the Financial Services operational units. This position plays a central role in supporting front office operations, coordinating departmental workflows, and assisting leadership and operational units in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment. The Administrative Support Coordinator I works both independently and collaboratively to ensure accuracy, compliance with policies and procedures, effective communication, and efficient departmental operations.
The position supports daily departmental functions by coordinating office logistics, processing mail and documentation, and generating reports. Administers key operational workflows, including distributing Accounts Payable and payroll checks and procurement cards, assisting with timekeeping and leave management, and supporting employee on‑boarding. Additional responsibilities include serving as the Department IT Coordinator, managing office supply inventories, assisting with recruitment processes, and providing general clerical support across all Financial Services units.
With a focus on accuracy, customer service, and operational efficiency, this role ensures consistent support for departmental activities. Maintains a professional, positive demeanor while providing high‑level customer service to the campus community. The Administrative Support Coordinator I provides support for special projects, departmental initiatives, and events. Performs other duties as assigned.
Essential QualificationsHigh School diploma or the equivalent and four years of progressively responsible experience in general office, clerical or secretarial work or the equivalent. Thorough, detailed knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures. Thorough knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Thorough knowledge of office systems with the ability to use a range of technology, systems, and software packages. Ability to independently handle multiple work unit priorities and projects.
Ability to apply a variety of policies and procedures where specific guidelines may not exist. Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures.
