Biology Instructor Pool – Part-Time

About the PositionThe Natural Sciences Division is seeking adjunct instructors to teach general biology lecture and lab courses, human biology lecture and lab courses, and biotechnology lecture and lab courses on campus or at dual enrollment sites for the Fall 2025 semester and beyond. Courses include BIOL 101F, BIOL 102F, BIOL 102LF, BIOL 190F, and BIOL 190LF (Biology/Nat Sci).
ResponsibilitiesTeach assigned lecture and laboratory courses according to schedule.
Prepare instructional materials and assessments.
Participate in departmental meetings and professional development as required.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, grading, and student progress.
Adhere to district policies and California community college imperatives, including diversity and equity commitments.
Minimum Qualifications- Master’s degree in any biological science
- or Bachelor’s in any biological science plus Master’s in biochemistry, biophysics, or marine science
- or possess a valid California teaching credential in an appropriate subject area
- or equivalent qualifications as determined by the District Equivalency Committee
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity and equity (must be able to explain how these factors relate to classroom practice)
- MS or advanced degree in biology, cellular biology, developmental biology, ecology, molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or allied fields
- Commitment to examine, reflect, and modify instructional practices to support disproportionately impacted student populations and close equity gaps
All degrees must be verifiable on a legible transcript. Foreign degrees require evaluation. Grade cards are not accepted.
